What Is Flake Flooring?

Flake flooring is a resin system where coloured vinyl flakes are broadcast into a wet base coat, then locked in with a clear, hard-wearing topcoat to create a seamless, speckled floor with natural grip.

The flake blend can be subtle or bold, from greys and charcoals to warm stone tones. Because the speckled pattern hides dust, tyre marks and everyday wear, it is the most popular choice for garages, home gyms and busy commercial areas.

Flake systems are also more forgiving of uneven light and minor surface variations than solid colours, so they stay looking good for longer between cleans.

Ask a question

What is flake flooring?

A resin system where coloured vinyl flakes are broadcast into a wet base coat and sealed with a clear topcoat, creating a seamless, speckled floor with natural grip.

Is flake flooring suitable for garages?

Yes. It is the most popular garage floor finish because it resists oil and tyres, hides dust and gives natural grip.

How much does flake flooring cost?

It depends on the size, slab condition, moisture and the blend you choose. WhatsApp us photos for an initial estimate, then we confirm a fixed price after a free survey.

Is flake flooring slippery?

The flakes give natural texture, and we can add anti-slip aggregate to the topcoat for extra grip.

Can I choose the flake colours?

Yes. Choose from standard blends or create a custom mix to suit your space. We bring samples to the survey.

How long does a flake floor last?

A properly prepared and topcoated flake floor is extremely hard-wearing, and the topcoat can be refreshed in future if needed.

Flake or metallic?

Flake is the practical choice for garages, gyms and busy floors. Metallic is the showpiece. Many clients choose flake for everyday spaces and metallic for statement rooms.
